Most of the eBooks that you will find in the DVC library catalog are EBSCO eBooks. A few steps are required if you want to download the EBSCO eBook to your desktop or an e-reader device, or you can always read it in a web browser.

If you would like to download an eBook to your desktop computer, you will need to have the following accounts set up:

1. MyEBSCO account-- from inside the EBSCO eBook system or database, click on the "Sign In" link at the top right-hand side of the page. If you do not have an account, you can register on the Sign In page.

2. Adobe account-- go to the Adobe Digital Editions website and look for the "Sign In" link at the top-right hand of the page. If you do not have an account, you can register on the Sign In page.

Finding an EBSCO eBook--

1. Search using the library catalog. This will give you a mixture of print books and eBooks in your search results.

  • From the search results, click on the eBook title.
  • Click on the link "Connect to this electronic book".
  • Click on "Download This Ebook (offline)".

2. Search using the EBSCO eBook search box. If you know that you want an eBook, this is your best option.

  • From the search results, click on "Download (offline)".

            or

  • From the search results, click on the eBook title.
  • Click on "Download This Ebook (offline)".

See the video below for what it looks like on your screen when you download an eBook.  You can also get a more detailed explanation of how to download from EBSCO's help site, or from our eBook Research Guide.
