All DVC Canvas courses allow you to search for and embed Films On Demand videos from the "Edit" mode on Pages. This video shows you how:

This video shows another way to embed a Films On Demand video into Canvas, searching directly in the FOD interface.

Step by step:

1. Copy the Embed Code under the Embed/Link option on your desired film's individual page in Films On Demand.

2. In Canvas, click on HTML Editor from the Edit page.

3. Paste the copied embed code into the box. You'll need to remove the 'proxy wrapper' from the HTTP link inside the embed code you copied from Films on Demand - delete the part that shows up around [fod.infobase.com].

In other words, the link:

https://0-fod.infobase.com.library.4cd.edu/OnDemandEmbed.aspx?token=141207&wID=114211&plt=FOD&loid=0&w=640&h=360&fWidth=660&fHeight=410

becomes

Here is a video that shows how to embed a Kanopy video into Canvas:

Step by step:

1. Copy the Embed code by clicking Share then Embed on your desired film's individual page in Kanopy.

2. In Canvas, click on HTML Editor from the Edit page.

3. Paste the copied embed code into the box. You'll need to add an "s" to the HTTP link inside the embed code that you copied from Kanopy - this prevents a security warning from showing up inside the embedded video (ie. "Your connection is not secure...").

In other words, the link

http://dvc.kanopystreaming.com/embed/1054866

becomes

https://dvc.kanopystreaming.com/embed/1054866
